It has been a while between trips and I was getting real itchy. Coupled with some very busy weeks between flying home at short notice plus work and I needed to get away. Trouble is I’m a V8 Supercar tragic, so I had to be home in time to watch the races.<\/p>\n

So after a bit of arm twisting the plan was made to head north Friday arvo, camp somewhere, drink too much and return by lunchtime Saturday. Funnily enough that’s about what happened too.<\/p>\n

I picked the fellas up from the RAAF Base at around 5pm (they’d been drinking since lunch!) and headed across to the coast. Turning north we decided to pull into Seabird and make that our destination – this is pretty much where we finished our last trip up the Indian Ocean Drive.<\/p>\n

We got lucky and found a great spot straight away, so the next step was to get some tucker. We found a shop and proceeded to entertain the owners during our visit. Nothing like 3 drunk blokes to liven up a small town…..<\/p>\n

Settling back at camp there was some fishing, eating, drinking, talking shit and generally just bloody relaxing and enjoying ourselves.<\/p>\n

Someone woke up real seedy Saturday morning though……….. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Being that the shop didn’t open until 8am, we decided to have a look around town and then headed south. Pulling into the Guilderton Roadhouse we devoured some breaky and replaced necessary fluids – in us, not the poor old girl.<\/p>\n

Touring around town I found some great areas that I will revisit – particularly with a canoe or kayak. I’m also interested in finding a way around to the other side of the river – it looks absolutely fantastic.<\/p>\n

Our resident crook fella wasn’t looking the best, so we searched for every speed bump, tight corner or ‘imaginary’ kangaroos to avoid. Being that he was sitting in the back of the old girl, I do believe we succeeded in making his face whiter than it already was \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Anyway we again turned south working back towards home slowly. Two Rocks was a nice little joint, although the signs where there that we are heading back towards the outskirts. Again there was some great little areas that I want to explore. Yanchep was a hop, skip & jump away with a great little swimming area.<\/p>\n

By now it was time to head back so we cut across to Bullsbrook where I dropped the fellas off.<\/p>\n

All up we were only away for 16 hours, but it was amazing how refreshed we felt. It is certainly a plan to do this more often if we don’t have enough time to do a decent trip.<\/p>\n
