<\/a><\/p>\nClimbing up to Cabramurra turn-off We continued on to Mt Selwyn as I had to meet up with a mate. Had some fun whilst there watching idiots in Commodores etc trying to drive up the road sliding all over the place. Some people never learn! \ud83d\ude44 <\/p>\n The kids were having a ball until they realised that there hands get cold. Amazing how quickly they forget! \ud83d\ude06 There were way too many people around at Mt Selwyn (and a lot not talking English) so we headed back down to Three Mile Dam The dam look absolutely brilliant Cooked up some eggs and bacon for a late breaky The view up the road heading towards Cabramurra The snow fights began – however I seemed to be the target somehow! \ud83d\ude2f We decided to head up to Cabramurra for a look. The lookout was bloody cold, but gave some great views Parked at the lookout Good coverage of snow up the top Power Grid After all of this driving on bitumen, I was getting bored \ud83d\ude08 Virgin Snow \ud83d\ude08 This is the start of Lobbs Hole Ravine Rd Came up to the lookout. Ended up passing a couple of vehicles coming the other direction. We continued on towards the ravine Still coming down the track Got down to the ravine and the snow had disappeared. The kids were still having fun, so far so good! There is some great camping down here, probably better for summer though! <\/p>\n There is the odd spot around to give a small challenge as well. The Yarrangobilly River crossing I had a mate from work along for the trip in a stock standard Pajero, HT tyres etc. Did alright during the tirp with not much fuss at all. A 3″ lifted GQ on 33’s was always going to make short work of this crossing As we climbed back up to the Snowy Mountains Hwy we encountered more snow. It enabled the kiddies to have one last play in it before heading home. I pumped the tyre pressures back up to road going pressure (was running 20 pound) and headed back towards home. It turned dark pretty much as we hit the highway. There was snow lining the sides of the highway pretty much down to Talbingo, and then it dried up.<\/p>\n Stopped to grab some take-away at Tumut on the way home. Oops – meant food! \ud83d\ude33 Delivery person \ud83d\ude09 We continued on home from there. Had a fairly good run, although I wouldn’t like to be travelling home tonight – think there would be some serious traffic.<\/p>\n Overall we had a bloody good day. Biggest annoyance was soft roaders that decided they didn’t need chains, but they’d sit in the middle of the road doing 20km\/h. You’d think that the courteous thing to do would let people past, but they didn’t give a shit. Other than that – absolutely brilliant.<\/p>\n Cheers Left home at 0630 in the morning. Made some good time heading over to Tumbarumba. Filled up with some fuel and got the Parks Pass ($27) and continued on. Took the Elliot Way from Tumbarumba.
