We got lucky on this trip being that the road had just opened due to snow falls. It is an easy day drive from Newcastle however from Sydney I recommend a weekend trip camping overnight.<\/p>\n

Came in the back way from Moonan without issue – hit some snow before Polblue Swamp, the camp area was where most of it was at. Had lunch near the creek opposite the lookout, then came out via Thunderbolts way as the main road was closed <\/p>\n
