Well it’s been a while. The old girl ferried us through the VIC High Country with a couple of hiccups along the way. The ARB air compressor stopped working on us, leaving no lockers and just open diffs which made it interesting at times.
My eldest son smashed our rear window up the top of the Cobberas Track which necessitated a bit of tape to get us back home. It was fixed very quickly as we were only home for about 4 days before we again loaded it up and headed over the mountains to Bega.
We then spent some time 4WDing around Bega where I managed to break both engine mounts which caused some grief.
Since that stage it’s been back to ferrying me between home and work. We’ve given it a bit of a break from 4WD duties of late and using the Prado instead.
Future plans at this stage are to replace the front windscreen (due to rocks from a truck a few weeks back); replace the tyres (as they’ve just about had their day) and to continue placing the parts I have in the shed onto it (steering box, ball-joints etc).
The next 4WD trip for the old girl won’t be until the end of the year at this stage. The Prado is lined up for the trips to Fraser Island and Wombeyan Caves however if a good day presents itself I may take a run to the snow a few times if I get the chance.
Cheers
Chris
