Update 13 – Dec 11

Well the tyres rocked up this morning. I ordered them last Friday from www.tirerack.com and they arrived today (Thursday), so less than a week to be delivered including going through customs. The end price ended up being a tad under $1500, with the tyres themselves being $920 for 5 (size was 245/75 R16).

Anyway I didn’t get hold of her vehicle until late this arvo, so some major sweating inside the workshop in the late afteroon followed. However they are now all on, balanced and on the vehicle. And they don’t look too bad to be honest. It certainly gives the Prado a more aggresive look than it had with the Maxis 751s.

So far on the drive home they handle and brake well. There is a noticeable ‘hum’ even with the windows up, however it’s not annoying if that makes sense. I’ve set the tyres pressures to 37psi, but I’ll most likely bring the rear up to 40psi for the run to Brisbane and back.

Cheers
Chris
