Oct 2022 – Tasmania

Unfortunately we received the worst news possible to have as a parent, when we were notified that Jacob had passed away in an accident. For followers of this page you would know that Jacob has featured heavily since it started in 2004, when he was 1 year old. This led to an unscheduled trip to Tasmania during which I took a number of photos.

Whilst the scenery is amazing as normal, and the pictures look like we had a great time, it certainly wasn’t the case. Just sometimes I had to do something for a few hours rather than do something silly like get drunk. Anyway, I do hope you enjoy the pictures – even in bad weather it really is an amazing place.

Sydney Airport

I took a number of pictures whilst I awaited my plane flight, due to arriving early

Silverdome

I was fortunate enough to catch a few of Ethan’s basketball games, and whilst I was there there pictures on the wall reflected some of the great shows held over the years

Drink / Food

The drinks and food continue to be really good in Launceston, especially down near the water

Automobile Museum

It has moved, but still amazing

Launceston

The city itself still has some great little places to visit, and just wandering around on foot for an hour here or there is well worth it

North-East

Went for a drive out to where Jacob was living in the north-east of the state. It truly is beautiful country, and whilst I’ve visited that area a number of times, this was different. Stopped and had a Bundy at the pub whilst I was in the area.

Bridport to Bellingham (not via the Beach)

Had a look around Bridport and Bellingham and stopped a few times

George Town and Low Head

Continuing on from Bridport we swung up to Low Head before returning to Launceston

.

Despite the sad occassion it was really good to catch up with the kids, as well as family on both my side and Michelle’s (Jacob’s Mum’s) side.
