I was felling abit sore and sorry for myself, so I packed up the family and we went for a drive in the Prado (sorry fella’s but saving the Defender up for the two big trips over Christmas).
Basically we went down the southern side of the Hume Weir, cut across to the nothern side and then headed home.
Pics tell a thousand words:
For anyone that hasn’t been out to Mt Granya N.P – it’s not a bad destination. There’s some alright camping spots and the view from the lookout isn’t too bad at all.
Unfortunately some of the tracks are still closed (seasonally) but they will be open soon enough.
Other thing I realised – just after lunch I was struggling a bit so I got the missus to drive for me. However she’s never actually used the Prado in 4WD before; I’ve always done the driving. And going from a manual diesel to an automatic petrol (never drove auto off-road before) it was a change for her.
Overall though it was an enjoyable day away from the rat race and one I plan on doing again soon – maybe just a different destination
