Back down at Mum’s it was a quiet Monday after a fair whack of travelling. Jacob had to head back home as he had work the next day, so we bade goodbye so he could head home during the daylight (3.5 hour run).
Loryn had spent some time at the Zoo Doo (a Zoo approximately 1/2 hour out of Hobart0 whilst I was away, so I spent some time look at the photos – which looked like they had an amazing time.
Might have had a couple of quiet drinks with Lenny too …. 🙂
On Tuesday it was back into Mum’s mighty Nissan Cube and down the Southern outlet, through Huonville and Geeveston to the Tahune Adventure Park in the Huon Valley. Tahune flooded in 2016 and was then hit hard by fire during the 18/19 fire season. To their credit the work they have undertaken is amazing, and when you stand and look at the trees the arborists were working on – holy hell that is high!!!
Anyway there is an elevated walkway that is 30 metres above the forest floor, with the last section being 50 metres above the Huon River. I think I can safely say that Loryn and Ellie enjoyed the walk, although the movement on the final cantilever section made for a few deep breaths.

The original plan was to continue up the hill to the Hartz Mountains National Park, but it was still closed due to (funnily enough) snow. So we stopped and had some lunch before slowly working our way back to Mum’s

A stop at the Longley was a result of taking the back road – this place is country music central for Tassie

We decided to head back up Mt Wellington, because we could

Yep – was a tough day 🙂
Wednesday had arrived, our last full day before flying back. We decided to do something different and go for a Derwent River lunch cruise. And even better, the weather played nice

A wander around Salamanca Market finished the day off nicely

Thursday (fly out day) arrived too quickly, as per normal. Again there isn’t any photos but I’m sure you can picture the travel, airport, plane, airport, travel and then the bloody nice dinner arriving back at Loryn’s parents house.
Friday morning was the quick run back up to Port Macquarie so Ellie could spend time with her Dad, and I could just sit down and funnily enough – rest.
As per normal – great trip, great company, amazing scenery, and I really need to win Lotto big!!!
